Description

The Block might be the single most useful block of wood Tension ever made. Simply put, it’s a block of wood with an assortment of edges, pinches, pockets, and little crimps. Once you start using it you’ll realize that there is a lot more than meets the eye. Use them individually or in pairs to pick weight up off the floor, hang them from the ceiling, attach to a cable machine, pull against your own foot, combine with resistance bands… the possibilities are endless… Oh yeah, all the grips are immediately adjustable to be sloped, flat, or incut!

1) Installation of climbing holds on an (existing) climbing wall - The handles are screwed on with M10 cylinder head screws using an SW8 Allen key and secured with Spax screws (it is also possible to use M10 countersunk screws). The climbing grips must be screwed to all fixing points. - The climbing wall surface must be flat, the flange nut must be at right angles to the surface. - The following tightening torques must not be exceeded for M10 screws: - for handle sizes from XS to S: 25 Nm and - for handle sizes from M to macro 30 Nm - The Spax screw with cross recess is considered to be an anti-twist protection. The Spax screw should only be tightened so that the handle holds well, but not beyond that.   2) Mounting of climbing holds on a wooden wall Here it is useful to first think of a suitable drilling grid for the climbing grip attachment - for boulder walls a hole spacing of 15 cm is recommended; for lead walls a hole spacing of 20 cm is sufficient. Wooden walls must be easily accessible from the rear side, as flange nuts are now being hammered / screwed in. Quickly and cheaply, drive-in nuts can be used; if you want a durable wall with intensive use, choose flange nuts rather than threads, which are screwed on with Spax screws to prevent them from twisting. Our flange nuts and drive-in nuts are suitable for wooden panels with a thickness of 16 to 21 mm. We would be pleased to offer you a ready-made climbing wall panel on request! => Link contact form Afterwards, the climbing grips can be mounted - see point 1.   3) Mounting of climbing holds on a concrete wall - You would like to convert your garden, garage or house wall made of concrete into a bouldering wall and thus bring movement into your environment? No problem! For this purpose a 4 cm deep hole with a diameter of 12 mm is drilled, then the concrete dowel is hammered in with the help of a hammering machine. The climbing handle can now be mounted with a suitable screw - see point 1. - Important: The drive-in dowel expands when the integrated pin is driven in with the drive-in tool. The handle screw prevents the pin from slipping out again. Driving-in plugs are usually only placed where a handle is currently to be fastened - not in every hole of the drilling grid, as is usual with drive-in or flange nuts. - ATTENTION: M10 screws for climbing handle fastening must be selected 1 cm shorter for concrete plugs than for mounting on wooden panels, as the screw can only be screwed into the plug approx. 2 cm. Should you require an individual screw length selection here, please inform us using the contact form. Please note that the use of spax screws on concrete walls is not possible. Special adhesives must be used to adequately secure the handles. Ideal wall surface: Depending on the bouder or route style and selected handles, very different numbers of pieces per m² climbing wall are required. The following table gives a guide value for orientation. Have a look at our ready-made sets and benefit from ideal composition, simple assembly plans, predefined boulders and price advantages. Standard values for required climbing holds
Target group Boulder Trainingswand (verschiede farbig) Climbing route
Kids 3- 10 years 6-10 handles/m² (handle/kidsets) 8 holds per m climbing route (handle)
Youth 10 - 16 years 6-10 Handles/m²   6 holds per m climbing route
Beginner 6-12 Handles/m²   6 holds per m climbing route
Advanced 6-12 Handles/m²   5 holds per m climbing route
Profi 6 - 16 Handles/m²   4 holds per m climbing route
General notes - Our climbing holds are designed exclusively for climbing under normal conditions. - Due to temperature fluctuations as well as the expansion behaviour of the ground, it is possible that the grips will loosen. Therefore, all grips must be additionally fixed with Spax screws and their condition must be checked regularly. - If a handle is screwed onto an uneven surface, this can lead to damage to the handles. Damaged handles must always be replaced immediately and can be disposed of in the residual waste. - From time to time climbing holds should be cleaned from magnesium, dirt and skin abrasion. This can be done with hot (approx. 60°C) water and a soft brush. Please note that the use of chemical cleaning agents can affect the strength of the handle - A handle should not be changed in shape or colour. - UV light can change the colours of the climbing holds - this should be taken into account especially in outdoor areas and for holds in neon colours
